Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do you have a clinic outside Maharashtra?

No. We have two branches, one in Mumbai (Vasai) and another in Sangli, where you can consult Dr. Shelly Sharma personally. We work globally from our clinics for patients who cannot visit us in person. We have no branches or representatives elsewhere in India or abroad.

How will the consultation process work, especially if we do not live in Mumbai, cannot travel to the clinic, or the patient is bedridden?

Our consultation is designed to benefit all clients, regardless of location. Besides in-person meetings, patients can interact with us via phone, Skype calls, Google Meet, FaceTime, and email. In fact, many of our Mumbai-based patients also opt for video chats for their appointments.

Why do you emphasize Classical Homeopathy and not just Homeopathy?

Classical Homeopathy focuses on treating the individual as a whole rather than just the symptoms. It considers the totality of the patient, including their physical, emotional, and psychological aspects, to find the most suitable remedy. This holistic approach ensures a deeper and more effective healing process.

Why does the doctor not disclose the name of the medicine?

We do disclose the name of the medicine if the patient needs it, as there is nothing to hide. However, Homeopathic medicine is a tailor-made prescription that varies from patient to patient, even if they suffer from the same disease. The base of homeopathy is the totality of the patient, which includes a deeper understanding of both mind and body. There is a high risk of patients self-medicating or suggesting the same medication to others, which can be harmful. Also, follow-ups may lead to changes in the prescription based on factors like prognosis and symptoms.

Why can't we self-medicate with a Homeopathic prescription like in allopathy? Why are follow-ups essential?

Self-medication is very harmful in homeopathy because prescriptions are based on a comprehensive understanding of the patient's mind and emotions, not just the diagnosis. It is difficult for patients to understand their own psychology and disease pathology, making self-medication risky. Follow-ups are crucial as they allow the doctor to assess the effectiveness of the initial treatment and make necessary adjustments, which patients cannot do accurately on their own.

Why do treatment fees/charges differ from doctor to doctor?

Cost comparisons are subjective. The professional fees depend on several factors:
1. The amount of time spent with each patient and the pathology of the disease.
2. One-on-one attention and emphasis on understanding the mind, emotions, and pathology.
3. Continuous education and efforts to provide the best Homeopathic treatment and holistic healing.
4. Providing counseling and lifestyle advice tailored to each patient.
5. Ensuring sustainable health improvements beyond superficial symptom treatment.

Does a homeopathic doctor have proper medical training?

Yes, professionals in India undergo a rigorous 4 to 5-year course, similar to allopathic doctors, including a one-year internship at a hospital. Their curriculum covers subjects like Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, and Medicine. The main difference is that Homeopaths prescribe homeopathic medicines instead of allopathic ones, but their understanding of disease and patient care is comparable.

Why is homeopathic case-taking so detailed?

Homeopathy is not symptom-based but an individualistic treatment. The doctor needs to understand the root cause of the disease by comprehending the patient's mind-body connection and pathology. Detailed case history helps prescribe the best-suited medicine out of over 3000 available remedies, tailored to the patient's personality and condition.

How to know if your Homeopathic Doctor is a classical Homeopathic consultant?

A classical doctor will take a detailed case history to understand you in depth. They will not prescribe homeopathic combinations, ointments, or syrups but will focus on a single, individualized remedy.

Is homeopathy safe for children and pregnant women?

Yes, homeopathy is safe for both children and pregnant women. Many pregnant women benefit from homeopathic treatment for issues like nausea, vomiting, pregnancy hypertension, and vaginal bleeding, alongside allopathic medication. Homeopathy is also beneficial for newborns, infants, and toddlers, helping build a healthy immune system and avoid unnecessary antibiotics or anti-allergies.

Is homeopathy useful for the physical and mental health of children?

Yes, homeopathy is beneficial for children's physical healing and helps improve their quality of life and mental well-being.

What is classical homeopathy?

Classical homeopathy is a method of treating patients by considering their overall physical, emotional, and psychological state to find the most appropriate single remedy.

How easy is it to treat yourself with homeopathic medicines?

While you can self-prescribe homeopathic medicines for simple common conditions like falls, sprains, or cuts, more complex conditions require professional consultation.

How long does it take for homeopathic medicines to be effective?

In acute diseases such as inflammations, homeopathic medicines usually act quickly. For chronic cases or deep-seated pathology, it takes time as the treatment targets the root cause and initiates a self-healing process rather than merely suppressing symptoms. Patience is necessary for chronic disease treatment with homeopathy.
